Our curriculum is based on the Ohio Academic Content Standards. Ohio’s Academic Content Standards provide a set of clear and rigorous expectations for all students and provides teachers with clearly defined statements of what students should know and be able to do as they progress through school, allowing our students to be better prepared for state mandated tests.

HOPE Academy students are taught through a combination of traditional teaching methods and technological software/resources. This combination allows children to expand their levels of knowledge in a variety of innovative ways, while still maintaining the traditional pillars of education. Our teachers utilize the Essential Elements of Effective Instruction. This is an instructional strategy that accelerates student involvement and active learning. Teachers breakdown lessons into smaller components, and work to ensure that students master each objective before moving on to the next lesson.

HOPE Academies utilize electronic software/resources that are:

• specifically geared to improve students’ instructional opportunities and increase test scores
• allows students to gain control of their educational growth
• allows each student to learn at their exact level of academic performance and progress according to his/her own aptitude
• allows teachers to immediately analyze students’ results and develop individualized learning plans for each student
